While he's certainly a rising star on the Texas Music scene, Roger Creager hasn't been around long enough to produce sufficient "hits" for a Greatest Hits album. So rather than a compilation of top singles, the powers that be opted for a live album instead.
Live Across Texas is pleasant enough, but it doesn't offer anything new to those already initiated into the Creager fan club.
All his best known songs are here: "Mother's a Redneck Too," "I Got the Guns," "Fun All Wrong," "Long Way to Mexico," "The Everclear Song," and "Love." Except for the audible crowd sing-along and occasional whooping from up on the stage, little has changed from most of the recording sessions.
If you're new to Roger Creager, Live Across Texas is a good place to start. But if you're already familiar with his three studio albums, save up to attend one of his shows in person instead.
